Deep Impact Power Boats Releases the Tiger Lily Orange Quad Engine

Here are images of the latest boat from Plantation Boat Mart and Marina and Deep Impact Power Boats: The Tiger Lily Orange Quad Engine.

According to Deep Impact Powerboats...

At the end of February 2008, Plantation Boat Mart and Marina and Deep Impact Power Boats came out with the latest beautiful Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat that is “Tiger Lily Orange” and the only one of its kind. Like the other Quad Engine Deep Power Boats, the Tiger Lily Orange Quad Engine also bears the four-stroke 300 Mercury Verado Engines, weighs in excess of 15,000 pounds and gets up to speeds of 80 miles per hour. One of the biggest attractions to the recently produced Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boats though, has been the incredible cruising speeds of 65-70 mph it reaches at 5,000 rpm, while still maintaining a mile-to-the-gallon and a comfortable ride in bumpy seas.

With each Deep Impact Power Boat built, each boat is designed to be a one-of-kind vessel with features such as having different hull color options (available in either a full hull color or a two-tone color hull) and different interior options. The new, Tiger Lily Orange Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat is a fully customized boat that was built for a customer (who currently owns a Triple Engine Deep Impact Power Boat) that wanted his new boat color to match his company cranes, trucks and heavy equipment.

“Recently we put the newest Quad Engine Deep Impact, done in a brilliant Tiger Lily Orange two-tone color, at the land display of the Miami Boat Show Poker Run put on by the Florida Powerboat Club. It was jammed day and night with the poker runners and guests of Holiday Isle constantly admiring the unique layout and gorgeous color of the boat, especially when the sun hit the sides,” commented Carl Hansen from Plantation Boat Mart and Marina. “Despite the fact that the majority of club members have “over the top” powerboats, the Deep Impact still fits their extreme tastes and “need for speed” but provides a more practical layout for their family, larger groups of friends and just general everyday use. Add to that, a five year engine warranty which is something that is very strange to them, and it is no surprise that more than one club member has put Deep Impact in their current or future plans.”

The Tiger Lily Orange Quad Engine also has a twin-step hull design and is fully glassed together with Kevlar lining throughout that includes a second lamination schedule. Like all Deep Impact Power Boats the Quad Engines are built, and fully customized, exactly how the buyer wants it and is unlike what any other center console builder can do for their customers. Whether a fisherman, luxury or performance boater Deep Impact Power Boats has something for everyone looking for a center console.

2008 Baja Hammer X

One of the many sleek boats that made a debut during the recent Miami International Boat Show was the 2008 Baja Hammer X. The Baja Boats website features pictures and details. It's such a cool looking boat that it appears driver of this particular Hammer X decided to match his headgear and shirt to the color scheme.

According to Baja...

Baja Marine has introduced the all-new Hammer X at the Miami International Boat Show. The agile 22-foot Hammer X is an exciting addition to Baja's Performance series. Like the 278 Performance that was introduced earlier in the 2008 model year, the Hammer X offers the signature power and style of the popular Performance series. With the debut of the Hammer X, Baja Marine continues its commitment to create innovative, eye-catching models for its leading lineup.

Powered by a 300-hp MerCruiser(r) 350 Magnum engine, the Hammer X easily delivers all the thrills and speed for which Baja is well known. "We've packed a lot of muscle into the new Hammer X," said Carey Price, Baja's director of product development and engineering. "For a boat its size, it has no trouble keeping up with the big boys." For those that want even more power, engine options as powerful as the 425-hp MerCruiser(r) 496 Magnum HO are also available.

Finding inspiration in the styling of muscular roadsters, Baja's in-house design team incorporated aggressive lines and cutting-edge features into the Hammer X. Specially crafted rear vents and a low-profile stance create a sleek, hotrod-style look. "These are such sharp additions to the boat," Price said. "They lend the Hammer X a unique, instantly recognizable profile. Once again, the Baja designers have really outdone themselves with this boat."

With its spacious cockpit layout, cabin V-berth and storage capacity, the Hammer X suits daylong joy rides of up to six friends as well as cozy overnight trips for two. Two cockpit bucket seats make driving comfortable and snug. The cockpit passenger seat also swivels to face a broad aft bench that allows passengers to stretch out. During breaks in the action, a large rear sunpad makes a perfect place for lounging, while the 25-quart cooler storage space holds plenty of refreshments.

"The Hammer X offers a full-throttle thrill ride to our customers," said Dave Olson, president of Baja Marine. "We are excited to add another top performer to our popular Performance series."

2008 Sea Ray 350 Sundancer

The Sea Ray website features details about the new 350 Sundancer.

In the photos, the boat looks very sleek and classy, but take a good look at the photos of interior. See how tidy and organized cabin is...right down the bowls of food perched neatly on the table? You can only wish your boat was this organized.

According to Sea Ray...

The sweeping, aerodynamic lines. The extra-large hull windows. The seamless fiberglass hardtop. At a dockside glance, it's the luxury sport style that first draws your attention to the all-new Sea Ray 350 Sundancer. But look beyond the obvious charm, and you may be surprised by what you see in the stunning flagship of our Sport Cruiser line.

For example, at the stern when you pull a handle, a two-person transom seat unfolds alongside the spacious standard swim platform. It's perfect for waterside lounging when the boat is at rest, but disappears again when the seat is not in use. An optional extended swim platform with teak insert and stainless-steel rail makes a fashionable and functional addition, as well. In addition, an optional transom stereo remote ensures that you never have to leave the water to turn up your favorite song.

A convenient door leads to the cockpit, where a big L-shaped settee faces a solid-teak table, which stows in a dedicated storage area. This roomy space can be converted to a sun pad with standard filler cushions. To maximize "harmonious flow" on deck, the ingeniously designed double helm seat and single companion seat each pivot to face aft, thereby easing conversation when the driving is done.

Keeping the whole gang fed and watered is a snap, thanks to the cockpit entertainment center which features a handsome solid-surface countertop with stainless-steel wet bar, refrigerator and optional barbecue grill. The grill is a must have for summer picnics aboard. With the addition of an optional 15-inch flatscreen TV with remote DVD player, the cockpit becomes tailgate central. The TV removes when not in use and, of course, stores in a dedicated compartment.

At the helm, high-gloss panels provide room for waterproof switch pads, SmartCraft(r) gauges and optional electronics like the VesselView display, which monitors engine performance, depth and water temperature, trip log information and more. The 350 Sundancer comes standard with brawny twin MerCruiser(r) 496 Magnum(r) MPI Bravo(r) III sterndrives (T-375 hp - 280 kW) with Digital Throttle and Shift, but a comprehensive list of options -- even inboards, gas or diesel -- allows owners to personalize their boat for optimal performance, efficiency and durability based on where they boat.

The cabin is a bright and relaxing place, boasting two oversized hull windows, a pair of skylights and optional wood flooring. First-class amenities in the salon include an Ultra-leather HP(tm) sofa, solid-wood dinette table, deep-pile carpet and 26-inch flatscreen TV with remote DVD player. The spacious mid-stateroom makes a great "conversation pit," and when it's time to turn in for the night, it converts to a double bed with privacy curtain. Everyone enjoys easy access to the head, which has simulated-teak flooring and a separate shower stall for added convenience.

Across from the salon, cherry mica cabinets with maple interiors offer abundant storage in the galley, both above and below the big solid-surface countertop. The onboard chef will appreciate a full range of appliances, including a space-saving microwave/coffeemaker combo unit and a two-burner stove. In addition, two refrigerators (one regular and one drawer-style) hold extra cruising provisions.

An island V-berth with elastic foam mattress provides the owner with a sweet retreat after a long day of sun and fun. It holds another surprise: an electrically actuated Posturpedic(r) backrest that's perfect for viewing the optional 17-inch flip-down TV with built-in DVD player. Cruise-wear and other necessities are stored in the hanging closet, gunwale cabinets and locker with shelves.

The 350 Sundancer is just one more example of Sea Ray's commitment to making the best performing, most comfortable and easiest-to-own sport cruisers on the water. Plus, our owners enjoy the top service, support, and lifestyle opportunities imaginable. Those are benefits everyone can appreciate.

Scout Boats Unveils New 35’ Flagship: 350 Abaco Series

Scout Boats is debuting its largest model to date and its newest addition to the popular Abaco Series line, the all new 350 Abaco Series.

According to Scout Boats...

The 350, four years in the making, was designed in conjunction with world renown naval architect Michael Peters. Once again, Scout has created a fuel efficient hull design without sacrificing the high performance characteristics of the model. Showcasing a top speed of over 50 mph / 45+ knots and a cruising range of 450 miles due in part to its dual tank 330 gallon fuel capacity and twin Yamaha 350 hp engines, the flagship vessel is also extremely agile.

Scout’s newest creation also houses a unique, oneofakind fullyfinished systems room that rivals engine rooms on multimillion dollar sportfishers. One can step down in the systems room with ease, taking advantage of an uncluttered working area and ample lighting to service every major systems component within easy reach.

Fishing features are more than abundant on the 350, including 85 square feet of cockpit area; a 60quart insulated bait well with overboard drain and 1100 gph pump; rigging station with fresh water sink and bait freezer box with trays; numerous rod holders including six in the gunnel and a unique clearing trolling rod holder setup in the forward cockpit; four undergunnel rod storage racks; horizontal rod storage above the dinette area and dedicated space below deck large enough to hold seven more rods; and a hard top which houses bomar hatches, recessed speakers, spreader lights, courtesy lights, map light and a molded radar pod.

With 3 berths (a forward master berth with deluxe mattress, midstarboard cabin dinette conversion berth and aft cabin berth), the model more than comfortably sleeps five. Custom cherry wood lines the interior of the cabin, including the cabinetry and adjustable dinette table with seating arrangements for four people.

The sole is teak and holly, while the main closet is cedarlined. Premium quality leather touch vinyl can be found in the headliner and dinette cushions. There’s even carved glass art designed by Guy Harvey and produced by world renown glass sand carver Lex Melfi to add to the aesthetics.

The Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat - Four engines and up to 80 miles per hour

Some boaters like to take their time, enjoy the open water, and not rush to get anywhere. Boating time is relaxing time.

Put four engines on the back of a powerboat you can still take your time and relax...as you roar across the water at nearly 80 miles per hour.

The Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat is an extreme center console boat designed for speed, right down to the materials used to make the hull. No boat ever looked so fast even when sitting on a quiet beach.

According to Deep Impact Power Boats...

After the successful launch of the new Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat in September of 2007 (that weighs in excess of 15,000 pounds and gets up to speeds of 80 miles per hour plus), Deep Impact Power Boats is undoubtedly one of the most extreme center consoles of 2008.

Deep Impact Power Boats, which come in lengths of 33’ and 36’ with the option of twin, triple and now quad engines, have exceptional performance ability when reaching excess speeds, a fuel efficiency of 1.1 mpg at 65miles per hour and ride unlike any other center console as a result of their twin-step hull design.

Along with this, the extreme build and level of quality of Deep Impact Power Boats is incomparable having a fully glassed together hull and Kevlar lining throughout that includes a second lamination schedule.

In addition to this, all Deep Impact Power Boats are built, and fully customized, exactly how the buyer wants it and is unlike what any other center console builder can do for their customers. Whether a fisherman, luxury or performance boater Deep Impact Power Boats has something for everyone looking for a center console.

When we evaluated the continued growth in both interest, and the multiple orders, of the Deep Impact Power Boats despite an industry wide slowdown, it just reconfirmed our belief that customers are searching for the most for their money,” commented Elias De La Torre, President of Plantation Boat Mart and Marina.

“Deep Impacts deliver great fuel efficiency, exceptional speeds and a soft, dry ride where other center consoles fall short. When you take into account that these boat are fully customized, matched to the individual’s exact needs and built to extremes you realize we offer something no one else does.”

Since the launch of the Quad Engine Deep Impact Power Boat in September of 2007, three Quad Engines have been sold for a total of six Deep Impacts from September to December.

Currently, only twelve to fourteen Deep Impact Power Boats are built per calendar year.

Malibu Boats Introduces 2008 Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V

Malibu Boats has finally revealed their new Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V.

How do you take a legendary car like the Corvette and translate the styles and performance to the boat world? Take a look at the picts and video and judge for yourself.

One thing is for sure, few boats are so stylish that even the trailer that hauls it looks as sharp as the boat.

According to Malibu Boats...

Corvette has remained an icon after 54 years. Uniquely American, it's a symbol of independence, exuberance and driving pleasure. The Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V symbolizes all of these things and bares more than a resemblance to its legendary landlocked brother. It displays strikingly precise styling cues. From the signature Corvette "Cove" tooled into the hull to the authentic Corvette emblems to the power wing windshield to the rear taillight design used for through-hull ventilation down to the authentic Corvette rims on the custom Corvette trailer.

The Cove. No longer just a place on the lake where you hang out in your boat, the Corvette "Cove" is the at-a-glance characteristic that makes the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V unmistakable. Taken from the C6 design, the cove is uniquely Corvette whether showcased on land or water.

Windows that roll. Malibu engineers paid homage to the thrill of the open road by incorporating windows that roll down into the power wing windshield.

What's under the hood? The Corvette-styled closed bow becomes impressively functional as the bow hood opens to reveal LED lighting, a dual subwoofer high powered stereo system and specific storage centers.

Corvette, even on the inside. The moment you take your place in the authentic Corvette driver's seat, you will be at command central of the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V .Everything is at your fingertips, from the keyless start with security code activation to the Malibu in-dash LCD and two banks of multiplexed switches with built-in LCD screens. The servo-driven Medallion gauges peek out from the low-brow dash and can be dimmed to three different brightness settings. The feeling of fingertip control is as immediate as you put your hands on the sure-grip performance steering wheel.

Whether you are in the authentic Corvette driver's seat, the passenger's seat or the console-split rear lounge, you will feel the comfort of the plush, 38-ounce Duraguard vinyl seamed with French stitching. Anodized aluminum cup holders, carbon fiber accents, theater-style LED interior lighting are standards that enhance the luxury of this extraordinary boat. The 8-speaker Malibu-Rockford Fosgate Stereo System enables you to create the ultimate, heart pounding, Corvette experience.

Same heart, same soul. To maintain the legendary Corvette performance and renowned speed the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V is available in both Z06 and Coupe packages. The Z06 delivers the same power as the car with 505 horse power and 470 lb.-ft. of torque from the exclusive LS7 Corvette engine. The powerful 400 horsepower Hammerhead 383 engine makes its home in the Coupe.

Malibu engineers understand that the heart and soul of any Corvette, land or water, is the engine. With a nod to its importance, they have incorporated a clear, Lexan door designed to showcase the LS7 engine, visible when you open the Corvette Z06 boat's rear storage hatches. Twenty-four bright red LEDs showcase this powerful performer.

What does GM say? When asked about the new Corvette boat from Malibu Gene Reamer, Director of Trademark and licensing for General Motors, had this to say. "Once again Malibu Boats did an excellent job capturing Corvette styling cues and introducing innovative features, which is consistent with Corvette the sports car." A big smile came over his face and he added, ".they made this boat go really fast, too!"

Complete with custom trailer. No Corvette boat would be complete without a perfectly matched trailer. Malibu engineers have designed this exclusive tandem axel trailer to incorporate all the special details that say Corvette including official Corvette or Z06 wheels, depending on the model. The trailer is just another flawless rendition of Corvette design elements that shows off this very special boat as only Malibu could.

Boating Magazine Names Yamaha AR230 High Output as 2007 Boat of the Year

Boating Magazine recently announced the Yamaha AR230 High Output as Boating magazine’s Boat of the Year.

This recognition of the AR230 High Output represents the first time a jet driven boat has been awarded this honor. According to Boating magazine “…the jet-powered runabout has matured into a well-mannered craft. In fact, with this boat, the time has come to drop the qualifier. It’s a runabout. One that not only holds its own among the reigning stern drives but, in many ways, betters them…It’s a design that can’t be duplicated on a stern drive-powered boat.”

The full-featured AR230 High Output is Yamaha’s flagship tower boat that combines advanced marine technology such as internal drive propulsion with an innovative cockpit layout and feature list in which everything is standard.

According to Boating magazine, the AR230 High Output rose to the top of their list based on the success of the boat as the best-selling model in the 23-foot runabout class, the boat’s innovative design, and overall fresh thinking.

“The AR230 High Output, as well as the rest of the line of our boats, continue to be the most successful models in their category because they do a better job of meeting customer expectations in the areas of quality, comfort, performance, and value than do the products offered by our competitors,” said Yamaha WaterCraft President Mark Speaks. “We appreciate Boating magazine acknowledging the hard work and commitment that it takes to bring a boat like the AR230 High Output to market.”

2008 Malibu Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V - Classic car styling on the water

General Motors Trademark and Licensing representatives recently traveled to Malibu Boats to experience the new Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V.

Malibu designers gave General Motors Trademark and Licensing representatives a preliminary look at the 2008 Malibu Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V.

Gene Reamer, Trademark and Licensing Manager for GM, was impressed with what he saw. "The boat looks great! I am very pleased to see Malibu has incorporated so many Corvette styling cues and features into the boat, including the cove, stainless steel exhaust tips and LS7 engine (available in the Z06 version)."

Reamer and his associates visited the Malibu Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V in the final stages of development. Malibu designers and engineers are fine tuning the interior design and exploring the boats exceptional abilities on the water.

"The C6 version of the Corvette boat has sparked innovation and the use of technologies never before seen in the water sports industry," explained Dan Gasper, Director of the Malibu Boats Research and Development Center and Lead Designer.

Based on the 2008 C6 Corvette, this Malibu will be available in Coupe and Z06 editions. The Z06 package includes the 512 horse power, 7.0L, LS7. This engine pumps out 637 Nm of torque and is joined by Z06 emblems and trailer wheels in the Z06 package.

"I'm impressed with Malibu's ability to execute a true Corvette boat," Reamer concluded. "They have created a unique water craft that demonstrates Malibu's design and engineering capabilities."

2008 Malibu Boats Sunscape 23 LSV

The 2008 Sunscape 23 LSV from Malibu Boats is described as "an evolutionary breakthrough in boat design".

According to Malibu boats...

The deck and newly tooled Diamond hull were modeled from scratch in a 3D environment. All shapes and angles were rethought with the goal of perfect handling and smooth ride in mind. The result is a 23-foot boat that welcomes rough water, intuitively responds to a touch of the steering wheel and hosts luxurious amenities.

The exterior follows the sharp look of the 247 LSV with the addition of the new Frameless-Vented Windshield.

Malibu engineers have tweaked the hull transitions between the keel and the strakes. They shaped these compound curves to dissipate the shock and noise of choppy water without a handling compromise.

The rear seat lean-back is designed with a new hand-wrapped element that can house an available rear LCD switch panel. This option controls theater-style interior lighting, the new Malibu-Rockford Fosgate Sound System, available heaters and new Malibu Factory and Custom Presets. Passengers in the lounge can now share in a level of control only previously afforded the driver.

Malibu is now offering an optional Sport Seating package that comes with two of the new 2008 swivel driver's seats. So the passenger can enjoy 8-position adjustment, automotive-style lumbar support and a front facing view. The passenger's captain seat can also be accessorized with power adjustment and a seat heater.

Larson Boats Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser

Here are some of the first images of the Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser from Larson Boats.

The Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser is based on the 36-foot 11-inch, inboard-powered Cabrio 370 Mid-Cabin cruiser. The Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser retains that model’s 13-foot beam and its general layout topsides. The cabin, however, has been completely redesigned and redecorated.

The literal centerpiece of the cabin is a dinette featuring a 43-inch diameter circular table surrounded by seating for eight. The hand-crafted wooden table top has an inlay pattern inspired by a compass rose. The edge is trimmed with wood carved in a nautical rope pattern. The artistic design of the table is replicated in a smaller accent piece attached to the cabin ceiling.

Electronic entertainment is provided by a 32-inch flat-screen television monitor mounted in the forepeak of the cabin with a DVD player. A Clarion Marine stereo system with six-CD changer and Sirius satellite radio reception drives eight speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer through a 400-watt amplifier.

The cockpit of the Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser is divided into two curved seating sections, separated by a molded wet bar to port with a covered sink and icemaker. The lower seating section wraps around the transom, and covers a large, carry-on cooler and stowage.

The entertainment console to port incorporates a wet bar, blender and refrigerator. An extended transom platform is also standard equipment, to provide easy boarding access.

The Cabrio 370 Day Cruiser features a standard radar arch with spreader lights, but the boat can also be ordered with an optional powder coated aluminum hardtop with enclosure and cockpit cooling with reverse heat plus an icemaker.

A deep-vee hull with 22 degrees of deadrise at the transom delivers a smooth ride in most water conditions and precise tracking and handling. The standard electronics package includes an 8.4-inch color display, GPS, radar and VHF transceiver. Autopilot is an option.

Power options include twin MerCruiser or Volvo Penta inboard gasoline engines up to a combined 840 horsepower, plus twin 370-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesel inboards.

Edgewater Powerboats 388 Center Console for 2008

The Edgewater Powerboats site features images, video, and details about the new 388 Center Console.

According to Edgewater, the hull form was designed by world-renowned naval architect Michael Peters and features EdgeWater’s variable deadrise hull with a sharp deep-V entry and large reverse chines. The 388 also features a ventilated stepped bottom for reduced drag at higher speeds.

With Edgewater’s proprietary construction technology, Single Piece Infusion (SPI), the hull achieves a strength-to-weight ratio that significantly improves handling, fuel economy, top speed and range.

With power from Yamaha’s four-stroke power system, the perfectly-balanced hull utilizes the extra weight of the four-strokes to offset a wider beam and sharper entry, giving more efficient, stable performance and easier planing over a wider range of speeds and sea conditions.

Amenities include abundant storage, massive fishboxes, ample livewells, a large console with spacious head, comfortable seating, and an ergonomic helm center.
